Zach & Pat attend Oliver’s birthday party

This past Saturday was a fun day for the family as it was Oliver’s birthday party, and Zach and Pat were guests (along with there parents to, of course) at this special occasion.

When we arrived we could see Oliver peeking outside the Mazerolle’s big bay window, and as we got out of the car we could hear him calling “Hello Zachy”, “Hello baby Pat”. Once the boys were inside it was full-out running and excitement – at least for Zach and Oliver. Patrick contented himself with some balloons and other toys that he found on the floor.

The running was fun, but it wasn’t to long before Zach spied a shiny new Richard Scarry book that Oliver had been given earlier for his birthday and was compelled to sit down and read. He loves books – especially ones by Richard Scarry.

As for Oliver? He played us a nice song on his one-string guitar.

Soon the food (pizza) arrived and we all stuffed ourselves, with the exception of Zach who was “scared” of being fed by either Julia or myself. Oh the fun we have trying to feed that silly boy!

If Oliver was excited about having friends and family over, then he was even more excited about his birthday cake. It didn’t’ take him long at all to polish off a big piece .. with “hardly” any mess at all!

Something tells me that he loved it. Happy Birthday Oliver!

Patrick’s 1st Birthday

Wow – the year went by fast and it’s hard to believe that little Pat is now a big boy of one! With the business of Christmas it was going to be hard to have all his family and friends together to celebrate his special day, but I think we had a pretty good compromise by having a little party for him at his grandparents (Giraldi) and then this past week (Sunday) at his aunt and uncle’s (Ken & Janet).

Pat was dressed in his very best – a fancy multi-colour sweater from his Aunt Janet that came complete with lady bug buttons. This is the kind of sweaters that perhaps is best worn while your young?

The sweater is incredibly cute on him – that much is for sure!

While his aunt and uncle were busy preparing the meal, Zach was a big helper by getting some balloons ready. My guess is that he thought the balloons were going to be for himself?

After a great meal we had a delicious homemade chocolate cake. Patrick was not able to blow out the candles, but his mama and brother were more than happy to help out.

And there was even presents! One was a vintage (no Zachy, not a vintage car-car) record player and the other was a stuffed animal that Amy had made for him. He was so excited by the gifts, and I was able to capture a couple of cute expressions from him when he saw the stuffed animal for the first time.

I think that’s a pretty happy first birthday, would you not agree!?
